Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (IKUMED) visited AFS USA Türkiye Office, where Ebru Kara, one of our 2017 alumni of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of International Relations, is the Hosting Coordinator, and conducted an interview.
“Güneşkaya Trekking Trip” was organized by the Istanbul Kültür University Alumni and Members Association (İKÜMED) with the participation of our graduates as well as current students on Saturday, November 19th.
An event titled "3rd Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatics TeaTalk" was organized by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club on Friday, November 4, 2022. In the event where Bioinformatics Expert Utku Gürs and Seray Karacay were speakers, topics such as the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence, analysis steps, and the programming languages used were explained to our students. The event ended after our students' questions were answered.
Sports students of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) work hard to represent our university in the best possible way. Our students, who will participate in the competitions to be held by the University Sports Federation of Türkiye (TUSF), in the branches of basketball, volleyball, football, handball, rugby, swimming, chess, table tennis, taekwondo, muay thai, kick boxing, beach handball, beach volleyball and 3x3 basketball, continue their preparations regularly after the team selections held in October 2022.
Efe Aydemir, one of our Department of Cartoon and Animation students, won the gold medal in the "87+ kg Taekwondo" competitions of the Inter-Provincial Republic Cup held in Edirne. We congratulate our student and wish him continued success.
IKU Crazy Club visited the painting exhibition titled “Reşat Atalık – Şifreler” which is exhibited at Maji Art Gallery, on Friday, October 21.
On every Monday and Friday evening International students of our university come together regularly in the balloon gym, which was newly built in the parking area of our Ataköy campus, and have jolly good fun time playing sports games. Kültür Point continues its efforts to organize whole university wide sports events and various tournaments in order to contribute to our students’ adopting sports as a ‘culture of life’. Students who want to participate in these sports events can contact Kültür Point.
IKU Psychology Club held a seminar titled "What Awaits You in the First Session?" on Wednesday, November 2, at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall. The event started with the opening speech of the Chairperson of the Psychology Club Betül Yerli, in which she introduced the guest.
A student of IKU, Altuğ Sarı, participated in the European Kempo Championship held in Antalya between 24-30 October 2022 in three different categories. Our student, who was awarded with three bronze medals in the championship, made our university proud by coming in the third position in the European league.
An event titled “Epigenetic Teatalk” was organized by the Molecular Biology and Genetics Club on Wednesday, October 26. In the event in which Prof. Dr. Eda Tahir Turanlı from Acıbadem University attended as a speaker, topics such as “What is epigenetics?”, “Epigenetic processes”, “Basic mechanisms of epigenetics”, “DNA methylation” and “The effects of environmental factors on epigenetics”, as well as up to date articles on the relevant subjects were discussed.
