“Gender Roles”

IKU Psychology Club organized an event titled "Gender Roles" on the ZOOM platform on Friday, March 10, 2023. Expert Psychologist Aylin Cengiz Akpınarlı attended the event as a speaker. Speaking on gender roles, Akpınarlı conveyed to the participants the perceptions of the person and the society, the repressive aspects of the roles on the individual and the consequences it brings. The event ended after the students' questions were answered.

ABIS ROV FROM IEEE IKU TEKNOFEST TEAMS IS IN THE FINAL

The ABIS ROV team, which was established in 2021 within the IEEE IKU, qualified for the final in the 2023 TEKNOFEST "Unmanned Underwater Systems" competition. Our team, which has been working for two years, passed all the qualifications and will participate in the competition to be held in April 2023. The team, which includes eight engineers, developed the ABIS to complete the assigned tasks fully autonomously and made it ready for the competition. IKU RED WINGS RANKED FIRST IN TEKNOFEST 2023 CRITICAL DESIGN REPORT STAGE

IKU Red Wings, one of the IEEE IKU Club TEKNOFEST teams, completed the Critical Design Report stage, which is the last stage of the "2023 Fighting UAV Competition", in the first place. Our team, which broke the record with 97.50 points out of 100, will be in a fierce competition to raise the name of our university to the highest level in the races to be held at Bursa Yunuseli Airport between April 15-19.

IKU AUTONOMOUS TEAM IS IN THE FINALS AGAIN

Our Autonomous team, which produces its own unique car within the Asimov Technology Club, continues being a success this year as it was in 2022. Our team got 80/100 points from the "Critical Design Report" of the TEKNOFEST "Robotaxy-Passenger Autonomous Vehicle" competition and got into the finals. We wish success to our team that will take the track in the competition to be held in Gebze Bilişim Vadisi between 10-13 April.

Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point) Assistant Alumni Relations Specialist Kadir Akhan visited Cemaleddin Aslan, one of our 2012 graduates of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MOBIGEN), in order to strengthen alumni relations, support graduate-students in their career paths and establish new connections. Our 2nd year students from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Asena Aydın and Özge Öztürk, also attended the visit on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR GRADUATE MENTORING PROGRAM

Within the scope of the “Alumni Mentoring” project carried out by Kültür Point, a training was given to our graduates and students who volunteered as mentors in the 2022-2023 Academic Year by Alumni Relations Development Assistant Specialist Kadir Akhan. The content, flow and expectations of the program were conveyed to 40 mentors and mentees who came together at the training and meeting held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 20.00. The meeting, which focused on the details of the mentoring processes, ended after the questions were answered.
