Kültür Point

Peer Mentors continue their mission with their devoted work in order to facilitate the first year experiences of first-year students in the distance education process and to support students who cannot get to know their classmates and find a social environment.

The peer mentors under the direction of Mücella Ezgin, Deputy Head of the Kültür Point Unit, continue to support first-year students in adapting to university studentship and informing them about course choices and development opportunities.

The February calendar of the “Culture of Life Now and Future Academy” organized by the Student Life, Career and Graduate Counseling Unit has been published.

An online chess tournament was held between universities on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Six of our alumni also took part in the IKU team of 15 people in the tournament, where quotas were also allocated for alumni as per the rules. In the tournament in which 44 universities participated in total, Istanbul Kültür University team supported by İKÜMED won the championship in its group.

Our alumni and students representing our university in the tournament:

Presidency Human Resources Office (CBİKO), which was established to support the work of career centers in universities and increase employment, held a meeting to evaluate the fall semester specifically for career centers and to give information about the use of the “Yetenek Kapısı” platform.

At the meeting, where IKU Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point) also took place, feedback was received from universities about the Yetenek Kapısı platform. It was also discussed what can be done to improve the platform and increase student use.

Kültür Point Unit Head Dr. Neslihan Er, Unit Vice President Mücella Ezgin and Career Assistant Expert Ecem Uçar participated in the "Career Workshop" organized by Job and Career Consultants Zühal Yiğit and Şenay Cengiz Aslan.

The first part of the 8-hour workshop was held on January 23, 2020. Executives and experts from different institutions and organizations also attended the workshop, where various practices were made about what was experienced while taking career steps to date. Kültür Point team had the opportunity to establish new business contacts at the meeting.

A virtual tour program titled "Traveling Göbeklitepe with Jolly" was held at 21:00 on Monday, January 25, 2021, in cooperation with the Kültür Point and Jolly Tour. 106 people attended the sightseeing tour, which was narrated by Jolly Tour Guide Güney Peker via Adobe Connect Virtual Classroom Application. To the event; IKU students, alumni, academic and administrative staff as well as external participants showed interest.
