Kültür Point

The “Winter School Sports School” Program has started particularly in the Ataköy International Youth Center which is located right at the opposite of the Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Ataköy Campus, and the centres of Bakırköy Youth and Sports District Directorate.

With the collaboration of IKU and Ministry of Youth and Sports Istanbul District Directorate of Youth and Sports, our students, academic staff and their families will benefit from the center for free.

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Kültür Point aims to offer a warm welcome to our students who have just joined the IKU family in the 2021-2022 Academic Year, to introduce our university and our staff, who will be their new home throughout their higher education life, and to make their first day at the university inspiring and guiding. ; An Orientation Program was held at our Ataköy campus between 20-23 September 2021.

The Peer Mentoring Program, which started in the 2017-2018 Academic Year with the aim of facilitating the first year students’ experience, contributing to their personal development and helping them gain corporate belonging, continues with the 5th term mentors within the scope of the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

“Basic Mentoring Training” was held on September 1, 2021 with a team of peer mentors consisting of 123 volunteers. 100 candidate mentors participated in the training held over Microsoft TEAMS. The training was given by Mücella Ezgin, Deputy Head of Kültür Point Unit.

IKU IEEE Club has been working under the coordination of Culture Point for about a year to represent our university in the best way possible in the TEKNOFEST 2021 competition. Our students managed to become finalists in all three categories by competing with the teams in the following categories at TEKNOFEST 2021.

The IKU Red Wings Team, which is under the name of the RAS committee of the IKU IEEE Club, which represents our university in the "Combating UAV" category of the TEKNOFEST competition, made its mark on the final stage with the project it prepared. The canopy, engine holders, landing gear, canopy shelf and software developed by our students, the UAV can take off, drive and land autonomously.

The aim of the competitors in the Fighting UAV category is to detect and lock the rival UAVs, both virtually and autonomously, and get points with the UAV they have prepared.

Istanbul Kültür University Underwater Community (IKUSAT) has organized an event which consist 8 diving, culture trip, Jeep Safari and ATV trip on June 15-18 to Fethiye.

In the event, Canan Kaya earned 1 star, Taha Kanaryan, Head of IKUSAT and Cihadiye Arıcıoğlu earned 2 stars successfully.

We congratulate our students and wish them joyful diving.

"Kırmızı Kanatlar" team, consisting of Istanbul Kültür University IEEE Club students, ranked 5th among 83 teams in the "Combating İHA" category according to the results of the ÖTR (Preliminary Design Report) of the TEKNOFEST competition.

In collaboration with Asimov Technology Club and Economics Club, A webinar titled “Digital World Adventure” organized on May 21, 2021, Friday at 19.00, via Adobe Virtual Classroom Application. The webinar carried out with three sessions.

"Intermediate Level Excel Training" was organized by the Leadership and Management Club on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 20:00 via Google Meets. Turkish Airlines IT Project Manager Salih Hocaoğlu was the guest of the training, which was held with the participation of 160 people.

The event, which was aimed at introducing students to the Excel program before starting their business life and using them at an adequate level, ended with a question-and-answer session.

In collaboration with the Department of New Media and Communication, Effective Communication Club and +1 Down and Autism Awareness Club, a webinar titled "User Experience as a New Career Field in the Digital Age" organized on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 19:00 on CATS. Instructor Ahmet Erşanlı, who participated in the event as a speaker, conveyed to our students their professional work in the field of user experience, UX Researcher and UX Designer job postings, and the freelance working environment. The event ended after the questions of our students were answered.
