An application development project for virtual parcels on the metaverse universe which is https://decentraland.org/ was signed between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) and OXS Informatics Limited Company/COINOXS operating in the field of blockchain technologies.

“7th Intercollegiate Dance Festival” was organized on Friday, May 13 by the IKU Dance Club, which operates under the Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Kültür Point). In The Fest, 16 university’s dance crews took the stage hosted by Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. Within the scope of fest which was followed by about 750 people, Street Jazz, Hip-Hop, High Heels, K-Pop, Sportif Latin, Bachata and Tango type of shows were the most liked ones.

“Dear Graduates, 

IKUMED gathered Kültür graduates and students at a trekking event, which was held in Yuvacık-Izmit on Saturday, May 14. The event starting with breakfast continued with 11-kilometer trekking that took place along the riverside. After the walk, in which new amities and friendships were formed, the trekking event was completed with treats made at the streamside facility.

Organized in cooperation with Kültür Point and Kültür İstanbul, the first of the "When It's Dark" concert series was hosted in the backyard of İstanbul Kültür University Ataköy campus on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 20.00. Nearly 400 listeners attended the concert where The Away Days (Acoustic) band took the stage.

The Protocol between Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) and OXS Informatics Limited Company was signed by our Rector, and Can Azizoğlu, CEO of OXS Informatics Limited Company, on Thursday, May 12, 2022.  Within the scope of the protocol, a metaverse digital application development competition called METABANG LOCAL will be organized on https://decentraland.org/ in hackathon format and the successful team will be rewarded in order to encourage the participants.

Thanks to collaborations of IKU ArClub (Alumni Relations) and IKU Awareness Club, an event was held on Wednesday, May 11, within the scope of 10-16 May Disability Awareness Week. Disability researcher from Erişilebilir Her Şey platform Ilgın Aydınoğlu and Kemal Koçak who is lecturer and  specialist psychologist and our 2013 alumni from deparment of Psychology had attended as speakers. Event took about two and half hours.

Istanbul Kültür University Men’s Rugby Team played the semi-finals in the "Men" branch of the Rugby UNILIG Finals Turkey Championship, organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation between 8-10 May. Our students, who faced off Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University BESYO team in the semi-finals of the tournament which was attended by 13 universities, completed the championship with being ranked the 4th in Turkey.

IKU Sign Language Choir, consisting of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) students, took the stage at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Tuesday, May 10 to raise money for individuals with spinal cord injury and to raise awareness about the issue. At the concert many singers’ songs were interpreted in sign language and all the proceeds from the event was donated to the Turkish Spinal Cord Paralysis Association.

The "IKU Career Days 22" event was held on April 20-21, 2022, in cooperation with Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Student Life, Career and Alumni Counseling Unit (Culture Point) and IMM Bahçelievler Regional Employment Office. The event hosted by our Ataköy campus was held in the backyard on the first day and on the B1 floor stand area on the second day with the participation of approximately twenty companies.
